National Wildlife Federation (internet)

November 8th, 2006

Director of Hiring
National Wildlife Federation
11100 Wildlife Center Dr

To whom it may concern:

I was interested to learn of your need for Team Leader for your Affiliate and Volunteer Leadership Department as my career goals and experience are directly in line with this opportunity. My experiences at home and abroad have made me a flexible team player as well as a detail oriented leader. Having returned to the United States I would like to put these skills to good use in the non-profit world. My background in the Environmental Sciences and interest in public service naturally drew me to the National Wildlife Federation.

This position demands a skilled communicator- someone who can manage multiple projects in a fast paced, professional environment. It requires the ability to respond to direction while also taking independent initiative. Working in Japan as an educator I learned to communicate effectively and diplomatically in an international setting- a skill that served me well in planning and managing projects for my students, teachers and the community. I was able to work as part of a team of teachers in the classroom but also functioned independently to plan and create the lessons we used. With the skills I have gained I can be the caliber of professional required for this position.

My experience with leadership and project management will enable me to make a substantial contribution to the National Wildlife Federation. I believe that a challenging new environment such as yours will provide an excellent opportunity to utilize my skills while making a contribution to the public and our environment. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss in person how my strengths could serve your organization.

Sincerely,

The Nekocon
