To whom it may concern:

I am very interested in XX’s position of Water Program Specialist, as my career goals and experience are directly in line with this opportunity. I have been involved in environmental field and lab research since my days at college. My experiences abroad have sparked an even keener interest in environmental education. Having returned to the United States I would like to utilize my skills in an environmentally focused career.

I have field and lab experience from my college coursework. The University of XX’s Environmental Science degree requires courses in a variety of environmental disciplines, giving me an excellent overview of the field and a solid science background. Through school and employment I have gained significant proficiency in computer software commonly used in environmental analysis.

This position also demands a skilled communicator- someone who can manage multiple projects in a fast paced, professional environment. It requires the ability to respond to direction while also taking independent initiative. Working in Japan as an educator I learned to communicate effectively and diplomatically in an international setting- a skill that served me well in planning and managing projects for my students, teachers and the community. With the skills I have gained since my graduation I can be the caliber of professional required for this position.

My experience with leadership and project management will enable me to make a substantial contribution to position. I believe that a challenging new environment such as yours will provide an excellent opportunity to apply my skills while working for the public good and the environment. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss in person how my strengths could best serve your organization.

Sincerely,
The Nekocon
